We are retired parents of four children and grandparents of two (as of now!). We now live on Puget Sound after living and working overseas for the last 30+ years in six different countries while working for Exxon (ExxonMobil). We were married while Randy was in the US Navy and was stationed in Kris' home town of Bremerton, Washington. From there, we left on Kris' first foreign assignment in Tyler, Texas. From Texas, we went a little further away to:
Needless to say, we have a lot of memories and memorabilia (our new house, garage and 4 storage lockers are full!) and most importantly, some very special friends from those years. But we were ready to return home and be around our children and grandchildren.
We have been settling into retired life near three of our children. We have been fortunate to find a wonderful church very near our home and we are just 5 minutes from the Southworth ferry to get us to Seattle and the three children (and one grandchild) who live in the area.
A little about us:
Kris grew up in Bremerton Washington with two sisters and a love for her Pacific Northwest. She graduated from East High School, attended Olympic College and Central Washington before getting her AA from Tyler Junior College (along with the wife of Houston Oilers running back, Earl Cambell!). She is an accomplished vocalist (if you haven't heard her sing, you will be amazed), pianist/organist and has dabbled in the black arts of acting (major role in Jakarta as Adelaide in the play "Guys and Dolls"). She managed to work in all of our foreign assignments except the last, Nigeria. She has been the force behind getting the new house ready, spending time with our kids (and grandkids!) and keeping in touch with our large number of friends both locally and from our international lives.
Randy is a displaced Texan (from the infamous Waco) who graduated from the US Naval Academy (Annapolis) in 1972. He was a nuclear engineering officer in the US Navy and after serving his country, he entered civilian life by working for ExxonMobil. His career was spent mostly as a reservoir engineer in supervisory and advisory roles. He is now spending time in doing things that were not done during his foreign assignments such as "mowing the lawn", "washing the car", etc. Recently, he has begun to expand his horizons with courses at Olympic College (this website is a by product) and with some intensive stock trading courses. He hopes to have a dock built off the backyard and go fishing with the family in a not yet purchased fishing boat. He has continued his role with the Lagos Nigeria church (LCF) by helping them attain non-profit status in Washington State for tax purposes.
